Gokusen 4 picks up after Gokusen 3, but not Akadou. After five years (2009), Shirokin reopens as a coed school, and the there's a new batch of first years in 1-D that look like they'll be as much trouble as some of the past classes that Yankumi has had, but the only difference is that they don't have Yankumi as a teacher. Instead, 1-D's teacher is a man by the name of Chiaki Ryou, who had been a student in class 3-C the first year Yankumi taught at Shirokin.
(Gokusen 4's roleplays can range anywhere between any of the three years of high school, and all of the students in the class will have been together from the very beginning of their high school lives, and have landed into 1-D due to doing poorly on their high school entrance exams).
